Massive movie character style inspiration coming from Amber Heard playing Chenault in the recent make of Hunter S. Thompson’s novel The Rum Diary. That red lipstick and all those white outfits! Always so seek and perfectly groomed, she somehow even manages to outshine Johnnie Depp (gasp!). And for the second time, a movie has given me a massive and wistful yearning to time travel back to the Caribbean and experience it as it was in the 1950s.

I was looking to share this song, only to find the band had not made an official video. Instead, I found this short film about “nascent (and fleeting) gay love in Oregon, set to the tune of Youth Lagoon’s 17”. It struck me as quite beautiful, set in a wilderness both stark and hazy. But regardless, this song is just so dreamy.

Rosemary, Olive Oil and Sea Salt Ice Cream? DID WE JUST DISCOVER MY ULTIMATE SNACK?! A little savoury, a little sweet. And not unlike my own recent lightning bolt of genius, might I add - introducing Balsamic Vinegar drizzled Rainbow Paddlepops. (You’ve got to try it!) Sadly I don’t have any such appetising photos to sway the more skeptical of you bunch (yet), so for now, fine, go with the Rosemary Salted version. You can get the recipe straight from the Real Girl’s Kitchen at the good ol’ Hello Giggles Blog. Darn those girls are clever.

Amy Merrick, the Queen of all that is grand and floral. I would like to ramble on about how much I completely idolise this woman, however it would be devastating if my chances of working with her one day were dashed (did I just dream that out loud?), purely on the basis of my admirations coming across as slightly obsessive. Instead, a photographic tribute, so you can see for yourselves why she is THE BOSS.

*If you don’t get transported to some otherworldly place just looking at her flowers, then we are simply not on the same page, my friend.

I get to go and pick up my new (to me) camera tomorrow evening, around 8:30p.m. It’s an Olympus Pen E-P3 - I’m so excited I don’t think I will sleep! Fervent bouts of shutterbugging shall begin tomorrow night, around 8:45p.m… Hurrah!
